Partnership with the PGA of Australia
The Professional Golfers Association of Australia (PGA) is a member based, not-for-profit organisation. The PGA’s mission is:
“To promote and grow the game of golf, thereby providing our current
and future members with the opportunity to maximise their career potential” The PGA’s 2,500 members include both Tour Professionals (who play on the various professional golf Tours around the world) and Club professionals (who manage the 600 Pro Shops around Australia). The PGA Tour of Australiasia (PGA Tour) is a division of the PGA that manages professional golf tournaments within Australasia. Annually, The PGA Tour hosts 12 tournaments across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Recently the PGA has further expanded, becoming a one third shareholder of the new Asia Pacific professional golf tour, OneAsia. One Asia has 16 tournaments throughout the Asia Pacific in 2011, and will only grow in years to come.
Golf is played annually by 1.2 million people and contributes over $2.3 billion to the national economy. While continually chosen by high income earners and decision makers, golf is a sport accessible to people of all ages and abilities, providing a safe, social and healthy environment for participants. Golf is a sport with global reach and will be back on the Olympic program in 2016.
The PGA is dedicated to growing the game of golf and the PGA brand while maintaining our core values of Accessibility, Professionalism, Integrity, Respect, Leadership and Excellence. As with any business, the PGA is always searching for new partners across all of our events and available categories to work with us in this endeavour.
The PGA of Australia is a diverse business with an array of sponsors and suppliers across our current product portfolio. Long term partnerships with CCA and Holden demonstrate the PGA’s ability to produce results for its partners. CCA saw a 300% increase in ‘golf’ market share over 18 months of partnership with the PGA and Holden has sold 13,000 cars as a direct result of their involvement with the Holden Scramble.
